It snowed down in Queenstown the day/night before with a good 10cm dump so thought it would be great over towards the Wanaka area. I Decided to pull a sicky and head over to Treble cone with deano and Adam.
There was a covering of snow everywhere near Queenstown. We then Drove over the crown range to find not a single flake of snow so it was looking doubtful for Wanaka. To our surprise we got up to TC to find only 2cm had fallen over the past 24hours. We contemplated whether or not to spend 90 bucks for a day pass where only half the mountain was ridable. We decided not to in the end and go to Snowpark instead.
We cruised down the hill and chilled out in Wanaka for an hour or so then making our way up to snowpark.
Got half way up the hill and some french guys told us it was a no go because of electrical problems. We thne rallied it down the dirt track and back to queenstown on empty. Went past the remarks only to find it in cloud so didn't bother with that. The day was a complete waste of time for snowboarding but it was good to have a look around Wanaka.
